1. Murder attempt

Richard Nixon isn’t considered such a good president and is the only one who resigned from this important function as the head of the country following the Water scandal in 1974. Sources say that he was a bit paranoid about a few things, and he didn’t get along with Washington columnist Jack Anderson.

He was so angry with this man that he talked to aides about how to deal with him. Believe it or not, the former American leader even considered putting some deadly poison in the cabinet where he kept all his medicine or exposing him to a large amount of LSD by coating his steering wheel. The good thing is that he somehow let go of this dangerous idea, and the whole thing was abandoned.

2. Got married to his “adopted” daughter

Now let’s get into one of the special things on our list: a president getting married to his “adopted” daughter. The 22nd and then the 24th president of America, Gregor Cleveland, met his wife just a couple of weeks after she was born.

Frances Folsom Cleveland Preston was the child of a family friend, and since her father died in 1875 and the girl was only 11 years old, Mr. Cleveland took care of the child, although he wasn’t legally delegated.

When Frances went to college, they actually realized that they had feelings for one another, so they began a romantic relationship. When she turned 21 years old, they told each other that it was better to get married, so she became the youngest first lady in America’s history.

3. Was a pro bartender

What do you think about a president who used to be a bartender before being the head of the country? We think that it’s pretty amazing. Abraham Lincoln, the man who was the 16th leader of America, opened a shop with one of his friends, William F. Berry, in 1833.

Their bar was called Berry and Lincoln, and it was located in New Salem, Illinois. They used to serve a lot of beverages, including rum for 18.75 cents, wine for 25 cents a glass, and whiskey for 12.5 cents. Unfortunately, their business wasn’t meant to last because Berry had an alcohol problem and drank the majority of the shop’s supply.

4. Met with the KKK

Harry S. Truman was a judge of the country court in the state of Kansas, and while he was in charge, he wanted to further his political career and met with the Ku Klux Klan, which was very popular at the time and also had local political influence.

It seems that the relationship between them wasn’t meant to last because when the members of the Klan told him to cut ties with Tom Pendergast due to the fact that he was a Catholic, the leader of the country told them no.

But that’s not how this story ends. Truman said that people at the KKK threatened to murder him, but he wasn’t scared of them. The head of America even went to one of their meetings and dared them to try putting their plan into action, but they didn’t.
