An environmental group called Mighty Earth claimed the famous fast-food chain and its suppliers contribute to deforestation in the Brazilian rainforest. Their report revealed that local farmers burn the rainforest in order to grow soybeans for Burger King’s suppliers.
The fast-food giant promised to cut ties with suppliers that encourage deforestation by 2030, to the dissatisfaction of environmental groups that claim this should happen sooner.
