1. Camera phone – 2000

Camera phone – one of the best things people have ever created! Gone are the days when the phones were used just to send text messages and talk to someone. Having the possibility to take photos with your phone makes everything easier. You can collect some amazing memories in just a couple of seconds.

The camera phone made its debut on the market in 2000 and the first brand that was launched was Sharp’s J-SH04. It had a CCD sensor and they also had a tool called “Sha Mail”, which nowadays is known as Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).

2. Birth control patch – 2002

In 2002, a new contraceptive method began its life: the birth control patch, also known simply as “the patch”. It is a little square patch that looks just like a bandage you’ll put on when having a scratch.

The patch sticks to the skin and it’s starting to release hormones in the body, in order to prevent pregnancy. It is supposed to be changed once a week and according to some studies, it’s really effective: less than 1% of women who use the patch get pregnant.

Even though it is an efficient method, there are still some concerns about this product, but these are contraindications that apply to several hormonal birth control methods, such as pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis.

These are rare cases, but it’s better to consult a doctor before using these patches. Better safe than sorry.
