Although Facebook said its rules apply to everybody, that’s not true 

Company documents are clearly showing that there’s a secret elite that’s exempt from the general rules. Although Mark Zuckerberg said that Facebook allows all its users to speak equally, including the elites of politics, culture, and journalism, that’s not quite true.

Supposedly, Facebook’s standards apply to everyone. In reality, though, the company has built a system that has exempted high-profile users from some rules. The program that allows all this is called ”cross check” or “XCheck”, and its original purpose was to make a quality-control measure for high-profile accounts.

But it protects millions of VIPs from the company’s normal enforcement. And, guess what? Many abuse the privilege, posting material including harassment and incitement to violence, that would normally be sanctioned.
