Tip #1: Browse before buying anything

It’s like window shopping with a twist: you can browse through hundreds of items, from the very comfort of your own home. So, start scouting the area and scrolling through online deals, advises Michael Bonebright, consumer analyst with DealNews.com., but don’t press the buy button just yet.

Most deals won’t go anywhere, as the biggest retailers have extended their Black Friday season throughout the entire month of November, with new deals advertised almost every week. For instance, Walmart announces new deals every couple of days through November 14 while Target rolls out new deals every Thursday in November. And they are not the only ones with extended deals.

Therefore, if you happen to find something of interest early in the month, you’ll still have some time to check the prices with other competitors.

Tip #2: Identify the best buys

According to DealNews, which covers Black Friday discounts and other similar events, some of the best buys this Black Friday include smart home devices from Amazon and Google. Kitchen appliances Instant Pots have also made it on the “best buys” list but, as per tradition, you’ll also be able to score good deals on electronics, and even other types of Apple gear.

“If any of these products are on your list, determine who has the best price so you can map out your Black Friday route,” said money-saving expert Andrea Woroch. If you want to head straight for the retailers with the items and deals you’re interested in, do a little online research first to know what these are.
