No matter how bored or worried you might be, signing up for more TV services is nothing but a fake way to escape reality during difficult times. In fact, it only adds up to your worries by having to pay a little extra at the end of every month. You might need that money for more important things.

“There is no need to have cable or satellite TV along with subscriptions to Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, YouTube TV, and HBO. Figure out which streaming service supplies what you want to watch, and have one, maybe two tops. And, because we are all at home watching TV, pricing is not likely to decrease in this category,” says Ring.

Subscriptions and various memberships

Speaking of Netflix and other streaming services, what better time than a recession to start spring-cleaning your finances, or should we say, summer-cleaning. Check your monthly expenditure list and get rid of the things you no longer need like unused gym memberships or magazine subscriptions.
