Donating your eggs
Are donor eggs income? You can bet your bottom dollar they are!
Thousands of young, healthy women donate their eggs to infertile couples every year and get paid around $6,500 to $30,000, according to Egg Donation, Inc., a company that finds donors for couples who cannot conceive on their own. Such payments count as earned income, therefore taxable income.
Donors, as well as the IRS, receive a Form 1099 showing the payment, from the fertility clinics.
