Travelers who are not vaccinated must provide evidence of a negative Covid-19 test, whether it’s PCR molecular or antigen, taken within 72 hours of arrival. If visitors arrive without having a negative test, they must get tested on the island within two days of arrival, otherwise, they will receive a $300 fine.
According to www.discoverpuertorico.com, all people are required to wear masks indoors, regardless of their vaccination status. People who are not immunized against Covid-19 and those between the ages of 2 and 11 must wear masks in public places as well when social distancing is not possible.
Speaking of masks, they are also required at all outdoor events of 50 people or more. This doesn’t apply to public beaches, but masks are still a must in urban areas that are crowded.
Until January 31st, people between 5 and 11 years old can attend large indoor events, but only if they provide negative coronavirus test results, that were taken no longer than 72 hours before the event.
From February 1, 2022, the same age range will be under the same guidelines as adults. They will be required proof of getting their shots upon entry. Children who are under 5 years of age will not be allowed to participate in large-scale events unless the Department of Health gives them permission.
