Changed “use-by” dates
This one is a nasty thing to do! Besides the fact that you must always check the expiration dates of the products before you buy them, you should also keep in mind that many, for example, eggs, expire a lot faster than others. And because not all of them are sold in an instant, grocery stores frequently change the date until the whole carton is sold. Can you imagine buying eggs that are several months old? According to a former employee, retailers are allowed to change the date on the package as many times as they want to, even if the manufacturers don’t recommend it.
Food samples are full of bacteria
Food samples are one of the most popular aspects of visiting Costco. Little did we know that these samples were actually full of bacteria from other customers that passed by. There are several other people that accidently touched other pieces besides the one they took, so it’s possible the food can make you sick.
If you’re really hungry, maybe have a snack somewhere else, in a restaurant nearby. And if you want to try that specific product, you might want to buy it whole in a sealed package. A couple of years ago, there was an E. coli outbreak linked to cheese samples at Costco. In five states, a total of 38 people were infected; 15 of them were hospitalized. That’s horrifying!
Next time, do yourself a favor and stay away from them!

I know that they re-package the meat and change the date on the label to make it seem fresher.
