B-2 Stealth Bomber
When Ukraine started heating up in the spring of 2011, America sent a pair of B-2s to Europe on a very short mission. Even if the Air Force claimed that their purpose was just to train with their European allies, the message to Russia was wide and clear.
Naturally, the B-2 Spirit would definitely be a very important part of any war between Russia and the United States, given that “its revolutionary mix of low-observable technologies, high aerodynamic efficiency, and huge payload gives the B-2 important advantages over other bombers”, such as B-52.
What’s even more important, given Russia’s more-sophisticated anti-air systems is the subtle B-2’s low observability, which was built from a combination of reduced infrared, acoustic, electromagnetic, visual, and radar signatures. All of these raise the chances of survival, but also facilitate the penetration of some of the most difficult adversary defenses.
