The heritage plan is slowly shifting into a political headache
Behind Project 2025 is also the Heritage Foundation, a 51-year-old conservative organization that also aligned itself with Trump pretty soon after the 2016 victory. Heritage is also led by Kevin Roberts, a Trump ally who was repeatedly praised as “capable of doing an unbelievable job” on a February night when they shared the same stage.
Heritage also conceived Project 2025 to initiate planning so a Republican president can hit the ground running right after the election. One of its main priorities implies creating a roadmap for the first 180 days of the new administration to rapidly reorient every single federal agency around its conservative vision.
Also described on its website as a “movement-wide effort guided by the conservative cause to tackle and reform the failings of big government and an undemocratic administrative state,” Project 2025 also aims to recruit and train thousands of people loyal to the conservative movement to fill federal government positions.
One of these organizations is advising Project 2025, and it is known as the American Accountability Foundation. They are currently putting together a roster of current federal workers, which could impede Trump’s plans for a second term. Heritage is also paying the group $100,000 for its work.
