Filing your 2020 tax return might help you get plus-up payments
Americans who’ve already received their third stimulus check might be eligible for plus-up payments if their third payment was based on their 2019 tax returns. According to the IRS, new or larger payments could “include a situation where a person’s income dropped in 2020 compared to 2019, or a person had a new child or dependent on their 2020 tax return, and other situations.”
Filing your 2020 tax return as soon as possible so that the application is processed sooner rather than later could also qualify you for plus-up payments.
