2. The crossword puzzle
Everybody has played this fun game at least once in their life! But did you know that this is quite a new invention compared to others on our list? Well, believe it or not, these criss-cross games were invented in 1913 by Arthur Wynne, who was asked by his employee to create an interesting and challenging game for the newspaper readers.
The game premiered in the December issue of the newspaper, and it was pretty hard to solve. Gradually, it became widely popular, and the “Crossword Puzzle Book” was a huge success, selling thousands of copies!
