If we are talking about Switzerland, then you should know that, like us, Americans, they are completely against animal cruelty. They actually forbid having only one pet.
For example, if you want to adopt a Guinea pig or a parakeet, you’d have to think twice because they are considered social animals and you cannot have more than one under the same roof. Some companies are going to rent you a guinea pig if one of them dies in order to keep the living one entertained and socially active. That will give you a bit of time to find another furry replacement friend.
If you are a cat lover, then it’s going to be much easier. You can adopt only one cat, but you need to let it free in your garden (if you have one) from time to time.
Because people from Switzerland are actually keen on free days, Sunday is sacred. You are forbidden to mow your lawn, wash your car, or hang clothes outside the house. Unusual right? Imagine if you worked 6 days out of 7. How can you live like that?
