Get Amazon Key
If you’re a loyal Amazon customer, and a member of Amazon Prime, you can benefit from Amazon Key, a service that allows you to receive packages inside your home or vehicle. The name might suggest you need a key, but the system actually requires the installation of Amazon Key Home Kit, a smart lock, a security camera and the Amazon Key app.
The app allows you to unlock the door so that the delivery man can get inside and leave your package, all the while you’re monitoring their every step via a live footage camera.
Set up a security camera
If Amazon Key sounds too complicated for you, try the old-style version and install the traditional, security camera to monitor your front door. Some cameras signal your phone, tablet or personal computer whenever someone rings the doorbell.
Seeing the camera might make porch pirates think twice before trying to snatch one of your packages. If the security camera is not scary enough, at least you can make sure you’ll get these crooks on tape and can go to the police with the evidence. You can opt for security cameras with night vision like the Ring Video Doorbell or fake WALI cameras that look like the real thing.
