We’ve talked to a bunch of people and asked them to make predictions about significant events in 2025. With technology evolving at lightning speed and political laws changing overnight, the future starts to feel both exciting and frightening.

1. Is our economy doomed?
Many experts have sparked concerns about the global economy potentially going through a major crash in the next couple of years. With inflation rates rising, national debt climbing, and supply chain problems continuing, it’s no surprise that many are worried about an economic collapse in 2025.
Whether this scenario is just a product of imagination or a realistic possibility, one thing is certain: being informed and prepared is key. Experts recommend people diversify their investments, build an emergency fund, reduce unnecessary debt, and learn how to make the most of what they have. 2. Trump’s and Putin’s relationship
Now that Donald Trump is back in the Oval Office, some political analysts say that his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin could grow even stronger. The American leader was heavily criticized for his relationship with the Russian leader during his first mandate, and many wondered if his policies were influenced by Russia.
It’s believed that in his second presidential mandate Mr. Trump will continue to pursue his relationship with the European country, especially in areas like international security and arms control.
Last but not least, some even assume that his diplomacy could strengthen ties, while others are concerned that it could draw key allies apart and provoke a complicated stance from NATO and Europe.
3. Climate change disaster
The climate crisis is no longer a negative scenario—it’s a reality that many of us are not ready to face. If we take a closer look at what’s happened in the world in the last few years, we’ll notice how many devastating weather events actually took place.

5. Will privacy be gone?
Surveillance technology keeps evolving, so owner privacy concerns are growing more by the day. Experts predict that we’ll see data collection EVERYWHERE, from facial recognition software (as we already have on our smartphones or online banking apps) to biometric tracking on everyday devices.
This advancement in technology made many people wonder if the idea of privacy is a thing of the past, and we honestly can’t wait for an answer. So, is it possible to live in a world where every single one of our moves is tracked, recorded, and analyzed for profit?
A lot of people have mentioned that we might be heading down a slippery slope towards a surveillance state. While technology has definitely made our lives easier, it’s worth considering that the cost to our privacy might be greater than we realize.

6. China will surpass the United States
In the last couple of years, China has been taking some interesting steps to grow its presence on the global stage, making strides in technology and showing off its military capabilities—and we can’t deny it’s a powerful and influential country on the map.
There’s a lot of buzz among experts who believe that in the years coming, China might just become the world’s top superpower, potentially overtaking the United States in terms of influence and economic strength. Is this only a prediction or will it be the reality?
This change in global leadership could lead to major shifts in geopolitics, affecting everything from trade to international relationships. Not to mention, this subject raises intriguing questions about what the future holds for us: could China’s rise foster a more stable world, or might it lead to new challenges?
As the country’s role grows, the landscape of international relations is certainly becoming more dynamic and, at times, a bit unpredictable!
7. The Affordable Care Act will be repealed
From the moment the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law on March 23, 2010, the Republican Party tried everything it could to repeal it. This was such a top priority for them that they even shut down the government over it.
However, in 2017 they had full control of Congress and the presidency, and they could’ve dismantled the law without problems, but they didn’t. Even though that year’s tax reform removed the requirement to have health insurance, it turns out that it wasn’t as pivotal for getting people covered as the authors of the ACA originally thought.
As for the rest of ACA’s fundamental agreements—protection for people with preexisting conditions, major Medicaid expansions, extended coverage for young adults under their parents’ plans, and subsidies for people to buy health insurance if their employer doesn’t offer it—they remained as they were.
Even the “skinny repeal,” which was meant to strike down certain parts of the law, failed in the Senate when John McCain made his popular thumb-down gesture. Long story short, the ACA survived, but it will survive again or will the act be repealed? We’ll see.
