3. The generous return policy can be very annoying for Costco employees

Let’s be honest, the customer service at Costco is awesome! But only if you’re a devoted customer, because as an employee, this “return policy” can be a pain in the neck sometimes. The general rule of this policy is that everything you purchase from Costco is returnable (as long as you have the receipt), and you get all your money back if you are not satisfied with the product. And because people are people, and a lot of them can be very persuasive, some members return a lot of items that are pretty old, but somehow they still have the receipt for them.

One old employee said that on a Friday evening when the store was pretty crowded, a member came to return a refrigerator that no longer functioned and had a lot of rotten meat inside of it.
