1. Leon Keer – Fragile
Leon Keer is one of the most appreciated artists in anamorphic street art (artwork created using a distorted perspective that looks like 3D when looking at it from a specific angle). He has an incredible talent and the ability to paint whatever he wants in an amazing and distorting manner.
For example, at a street art festival in Ostend, Belgium called The Crystal Ship, he painted an impressive trompe l’oeil, called “Fragile”. The artwork shows three vases that were housed in some wooden crates.
One of the amazing things that he pictured in this piece is the fact that each vase is painted with an arctic scene with a horrific atmosphere. The subject of the whole artwork is Earth’s vulnerability, fragility, and the environmental issues that are destroying our planet.
2. Odeith – School Bus
Odeith is a Portuguese street artist and a professional of illusion art. He has several artworks on flat surfaces, that actually look like they are real things. Using only spray paint, he can give life to anything!
One of his latest pieces is a wrecked school bus, which you won’t believe was actually an isolated cement structure before. The artist is so detailed-focused, that he even managed to paint the shadow of the bus on the wall with black spray, in conformity with how the sun shines through the open roof.
Odeith created outlines and highlight the points where the perspective lines should meet. What can we say? He is a master of illusion art!
3. Patrick Commecy – Renaissance
Not that the other ones are not great, but this one is exceptional and looks like a scene from a Disney movie!
The French street artist and his team managed to bring life to several grey buildings in France! He created huge murals of hyper-realistic facades, which look like they are straight from a fairytale!
For example, one of his artworks from Le Puy-en-Velay, France is the best example. He painted the entire wall of an apartment building, giving it a happy and joyful life!
The mural is called “Renaissance” and it shows several scenes in the lives of those who “live” in the building. The details are amazing: from the colors to the real-life-sized people, to the activities and whole appearance, everything looks like a story!
