Apart from the images that captured the death of a president, no other photograph has been more iconic than this, the moment nightclub owner Jack Ruby steps forward with gun in hand ready to assassinate the assassin.
The moment would play out on live television as police transport Ozwald through the basement of Dallas Police headquarters on the way to Dallas County Jail.
Many have questioned Ruby’s motivation and how he could have accessed the basement with such apparent ease, but one thing we do know is that the single bullet he fired in to Ozwald’s abdomen at close range would silence the man with answers and open up even more troubling questions.
