5 Good Reasons You Should Quit Your Job NOW!

“Take this job and shove it/ I ain’t working here no more”, Johnny Paycheck was singing a few years ago. If you think about it, we spend most of our lives working. Either we’re going to the office, teaching, working shifts in the hospital, cleaning, babysitting, driving or doing every other activity that can exist, we all work or will work.

There are times when going almost daily to your job isn’t that nice and I’m not talking about being tired from the night before, feeling sleepy or having a “not so great” day. I’m talking about real reasons why people tend to dislike their work places or even think about quitting.

If you’ve ever wondered what are the signs that indicate you should say “bye-bye” to your job, you’re in the right place, because I am about to give you all the information you need.

Without further ado, let’s begin.

1. You Have A Feeling That You Shouldn’t Go

If you find yourself dragging your body on your way to work, coming up with excuses why you shouldn’t go, wishing for the weekend to never be over and having headaches constantly, I’m sorry to tell you, but you chose the wrong job.

It’s true that sometimes you don’t want to get up and go to work, or you may need more than 2 days at the end of the week to feel like you can function again, but this shouldn’t happen more than once in a while.

There are people who feel depressed when they get off from work, so if that’s also you case, start analyzing why do you choose to go there everyday. Maybe in this process you’ll realize that you can do something that you love somewhere you’ll feel happy going to.

2. You Don’t Get Along With Your Boss Or / And Colleagues

Just like I said in the beginning of this article, we spend majority of our lives working. Why waste all this time going to a place where we don’t feel appreciated or happy?

If you tried to express how you’re feeling several times and you still can see a change, then maybe it’s not the place for you. You can’t force people to like you and also, you can’t show up every day and receive bad treatment. It can lead to serious health problems, stress, anxiety, sleepless nights and can even trigger some issues in your personal life.

Don’t try and lie to yourself! Be honest and say when you feel like something is not working for you!

3. You Have A Feeling You Should Quit

Don’t underestimate the power of your own mind, because you can really feel when something is out of place. If you think about your future or your dream career and you don’t see your actual workplace, it usually means that there is something missing.

Maybe you crave a change, something bigger and more exciting, something where you can show off your full creativity and potential. If you feel like your actual job doesn’t give you the permission to grow or to express yourself and your ideas and also, it doesn’t support you, then it’s a no-no for you.

4. Your Reputation Might Be At Risk

Too many days of calling in sick, to many misunderstandings with your boss and colleagues, too much negative talk and apathy can make your reputation – that I know you have worked hard for – suffer. You won’t be taken seriously, you’ll be perceived as being lazy, unproductive and people could even think that they can’t rely on you.

These are not good things for your career or for your mental health and confidence. If you feel like you can’t come up with solutions that can make you change your attitude towards your workplace, then it’s clearly time to move on.

5. You Don’t Have Any Satisfaction

In order to be motivated and keep doing what you’re doing, you need a little push, from time to time. This can consist of financial bonuses, words of appreciation and even personal feelings and confidence that you did your best.

If you don’t receive any of the things I’ve listed above and you also find yourself doing everything on autopilot, I’m afraid that you’ve hit a work plateau. This can change by switching your team, tackle different tasks or even switching your job.

Don’t forget that your happiness comes first and this is what should guide you!

At the end of the day, everyone wants to be happy and successful. Don’t try and lie to yourself that you’re no good and that if you quit your job now, you won’t find anything better. WRONG! There will always be somebody that is going to want you in their team and treat you the way you deserve.

Don’t feel discouraged! Analyze your job, decide what you want to do, what makes you happy, passionate and confidence and go for it! It’s never too late.

There are a lot of jobs out there that are worth your time, there are none that are worth your soul. Just remember, we should be working to live, not living to work.

Happy unhappy job quitting day!
